Murfreesboro, TN Summer Family Session

Family Photography

This family photography session served the purpose to simply capture sweet moments that go by way too fast. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful afternoon for a family session with Valerie and her two precious daughters.

Valerie’s youngest is 3-months-old and she has seen firsthand how quickly little ones grow up. So, to freeze a season of life, she reached out to schedule a session just for her and her two girls. Let me just say, I’m a fan of mom and me sessions, especially when it involves an all-girl day.

The hot summer day didn’t stop these sweet three from having a grand time snuggling, dancing, and playing. Childhood is such a fleeting thing, and what a treat to be reminded how fun life can be if we just take a minute and experience it through a little ones eyes.

If you’re looking to have a family photo session in the summer here are a few tips-

  1. Wear sleeveless dresses and go barefoot if possible!
  2. Bring a portable misting fan, like this one
  3. Plan for early or mid morning, like this session with Valerie. It’s just as beautiful and much cooler than golden hour sessions.

This sweet family session was completely shot on film using my go-to gear Contaxt 645 and Fuji 400h film. It was also extra special because Valerie is a photographer herself, located in Alabama. (Check her website out here.) I’m always so honored when fellow photographers book me to take their family pictures.
