Small, consistent, and intentional Christmas activities with kids make memories that last a lifetime.

A meaningful Christmas season doesn’t have to be filled with a packed calendar or cost a fortune. Some of the most magical things you can do for your family are right at home. Here are the Christmas activities that we are doing. All of these are easily adaptable no matter what ages your kids are. Feel free to make your own schedule or routine for what works best for your family.

Every morning we read a single Bible verse after breakfast using the print at home cards from Julie over at Happy Home Fairy. Followed by reading a special activity for the day that I have planned in advance.

Simple Christmas Activities with Kids

  • Make a card for a loved one
  • Mail the card (go to the post office for extra fun)
  • Bake Christmas cookies
  • Look at Christmas lights
  • Read extra stories at bedtime
  • Take a chocolate treat to a friend
  • Watch a Christmas movie
  • Give away 3 toys each
  • Make homemade garland
  • Donate to a shelter
  • Make a paper chain
  • Make “Magic Snow”  see the recipe below

I have learned that where my focus goes so does theirs. My advent devotional is from Ruth Chou Simmons over at gracelaced.com. While I read that the boys play or make their beds and get dressed. It takes about 5 minutes and helps set my day on the right path.

Afterwards we will dive into our Christmas activity unless it is something that makes more sense for the evening, i.e. looking at Christmas lights.

One last note about Christmas activities with kids, it doesn’t have to be homemade to be special. If your schedule doesn’t allow for baked from scratch cookies then pick up some break and bakes on the way home and don’t feel guilty about it!

Above all you are a wonderful mom who was made to be right where you are. Enjoy this season with your children and practice gratitude in the now, whatever your circumstances may be, and I promise they will follow suit. I’m rooting for you.

Hey friend, I'm Grace, a mother to 6, home advocate, and big believer that God is for everyone.

I love the Bible because it's the only thing that has sustained my motherhood. It gives me hope on the hard days and speaks life when my feelings say otherwise. It has been the light to guide my home into peace and I'm so excited to share it with you.
