I first met Baylee and her son, Henry, almost a year ago when she and her husband brought this adorable little guy home from the hospital. It is hard to believe that much time has passed! I thought it would be fun to capture Baylee and Henry for a Murfreesboro TN Lifestyle Family Session, and so they could be my models for one of my film mentor sessions! (I have 4 spots left for mentorships this year!)
Henry was active and exploring as most babies his age do! I loved watching his eyes light up as they gazed up at his mom. Hearing Henry’s giggles as his mom lifted him up in the air, or seeing the curiosity written all over his face as he played with his wooden train in his nursery brought a smile to my face.
Whether it’s maternity and newborn portraits or newborn and milestone sessions, I love having the opportunity to meet and stay connected with families as they grow and change. It is an honor to capture life’s most memorable moments as families anxiously await the arrival of their newborn, welcome their baby into this beautiful world, and as they flourish as a family over the years.
It is a somewhat sad, but inevitable fact, that all children will grow. After watching my own boys grow, I can tell you it always goes faster than you anticipate. Family portraits end up being a lifeline to transport you back to a certain moment or season of life. I know for my own family, I don’t ever want to forget these joyful, crazy, unpredictable, yet mundane moments. Parenthood is an amazing journey. I encourage you to document each season of life so that you have images to treasure in the years to come.
This Murfreesboro Lifestyle Family Session was shot with a Pentax 645n and Portra 400 film. I rated for the shadows and at 200 iso with my sekonic light meter.
Images were scanned by Photovision Prints on the frontier scanner.
