My Top 4 Places to Buy Maternity Clothes on a Budget

Simple Living

I first came upon the idea of dressing for how you want to feel after I bought Allie Casazza’s Your Uncluttered Home. One of my biggest takeaways was that

you can be washing the dishes, changing the 8th dirty diaper today or 8 months pregnant and still feel beautiful.

It comes down to making intentional yeses and sometimes hard noes. Side note- I had to google how to pluralize the word no. Apparently that’s how you do it.

When in seasons of change, like pregnancy, your closet will look different and that’s okay. But it doesn’t mean you can’t have a wardrobe that you absolutely love. Toss those old t-shirts and the leggings with the holes and let’s get you feeling lovely!

When I started shopping for maternity clothes I was shocked at the price tags on some of the pieces. Oh, you’re telling me that you know I am only going to wear this shirt for 4 months and you want me to pay you $64? Multiply that times needing an entirely new closet for those last 4 months and that’s crazy! So I went on a mission. Scouring the internet, thrift stores, consignment shops, clearance racks and anywhere I could think of to find high quality, flattering, stylish pieces that I feel good in.

Here are my top 4 places to find maternity clothes on a budget!

  1. ThredUp

I love ThredUp because the layout is similar to regular online shopping. You can set your size preferences and filter by color, price, brand, condition, etc. Some brands I like to search for are PinkBlush, Motherhood Maternity, H&M, ASOS and Free People.

  2. PoshmarkI’m not a huge fan of the layout of Poshmark, BUT it is an excellent place to find high end maternity clothes. The nicer outfits or dresses that I would wear for a photoshoot I can find easily on here. Recently, I found a brand new with tags VICI maxi dress for over half off. Score!Tip: Know what you are looking for when shopping on Poshmark and search for specifics.
  3. PinkBlushWhile most of their items range in the $30-$70 range this made the list because of their excellent clearance section. In addition to a large selection, they frequently run sales offering extra discounts on top of the clearance price. And if you’re a new shopper sign up for their emails to get a 20% off coupon!
  4.  T.J.MaxxThis is where about half of my maternity wardrobe came from. If you’re thinking “I didn’t know T.J. Maxx sold maternity clothes!” well I’m not sure they do. This is where shopping intentionally paid off. Mamas, we are fortunate enough to live in a culture where oversized sweaters and t-shirts with skinny jeans is fashionable. Use this to your advantage! No matter the season T.J. Maxx has a great selection of long comfy sweaters or flowy linen blouses to accommodate your bump and you can still wear these after babe. That’s it!

Those are my top 4 places to find high quality clothes that make me feel fabulous, even when I’m incredibly pregnant. Whether you’re folding laundry or rocking it at the office today, I hope this helps you find clothes as beautiful on the outside as I know you are on the inside!

    Rooting for you always!
